Assessments in Illinois Compass (surveys, self-tests, and quizzes) are very powerful and flexible, so that you can control precisely how your students will interact with them. In this brief workshop, we’ll be exploring and discussing how assessments can be used for a range of purposes from assessing student understanding to increasing opportunities for student learning. In the workshop, we will cover: the different types of assessments and types of questions available, how to create questions, and how to make quiz settings work for you. Beyond the button-pushing, we cover how you can design assessments that will advance you course objectives, and strategies for fostering academic integrity. Individual follow-up consultations will be available.
